The plane waited for around one hour before it took off at Changi. I guess now that the economy picked up, the airport is getting busy again. (to my youngest sis: the food is alot better than United Airlines, it was a whole tray of food)
Reached Taoyuan Airport at around 4:00pm, collected Digital Tour Buddy and wanted to get something from my luggage. To my horror, the pin number of my luggage didn't work. That threw me off balance quite a bit. In the end, i lugged the heavy luggage onto the 客运 and tried number by number. In the end, 637 unlocked it. (since tomorrow is Sunday, it can serve as a 4D inspiration). Of course, I changed the pin number back.
Reached Taipei Main station and stored my luggage at their locker. This facility is so useful! I can't imagine myself dragging the luggage onto the crowded mrt.
Took the mrt to 六张犁. A big thanks to Ms Bella who specially went to office on a Saturday to receive me.
After which, went to 新光三越 to meet Ah Yi, Shan (who are touring) and sister (who is on exchange programme). Dinner was nice, but I think I will too hungry to really taste the food. Not forgetting we were busy catching up and updating each other about everything.
Took 客运 to Hsinchu, SY and myself spotted a very cute boy and started trying to be friendly with him. He was quite shy with us at first, when he started open up, it was his bedtime, so I chatted with his mum and aunt instead.
The Yang sisters grew up in 屏东. The younger sis (who is the boy's mum) married a Taipei husband, who is now working in Hsinchu. The sis shared that the boy is musically inclined and they were in Taipei to watch 台湾歌谣 performance. It was amazing how a two year old boy can sit through two hours of performance and clapped along. I noted down his name, 柯日城。Who knows, he may be 周杰伦 in twenty years time.
Apparently the younger sis (on the left) is on two years no pay leave (drawn half salary for first six months) to take care of the boy. She shared that Taiwan is facing declined birth rate and the government is encouraging young couples to have kids. Isn't this familiar?! We have that in Singapore too.
Visited my sister's place (a flat she rented with four other exchange students), she packed her clothes and we took a cab to 新竹長緹精品飯店. Quite a nice hotel.
