In the morning during breakfast, the homestay owner offered me 花生酥. It tasted great. After coming back from 海洋牧场, I asked the owner where to buy them. She immediately offered to ride there to buy on my behalf. I got two packets in the end.
Reached Penghu airport and was fascinated by the keyboard at the internet kiosk. After pressing around, I kind of figured out how to use. But only managed to type the middle character of my chinese name, since the 部首 are on the keys. The flight from Penghu to Taipei was ok, although the plane was really small. Four a row, two a side. Luckily it is only 50 minutes, just nice before I feel claustrophobic.
A taiwanese from the central part of Taiwan told me that people in Taipei are not as kind hearted and warm. I told him I don't think so, cos Singaporeans are even worst. However, after staying in outside Taipei for the past 11 days, I kind of feel that what he said is quite true. The shopkeepers at 汉口街 are quite 公式化 in their replies. Also, the few people I asked for directions in Ximenting replied quite monotonously.
I passed by two girls on streets, their uniform caught my eye first, green shirt and black skirt. What a weird combination, I thought. In the end, it was the famous 北一女, the RGS of Taiwan.
Met couch surfing friend 小狼 and 老鹰 (most Taiwaneses have nicknames) for dinner. 小狼 grew up in Taoyuan while 老鹰 grew up in Taipei. 老鹰 admitted that most 台北人 have a certain sense of 优越感, she said the seperation is so great that there is this saying of 台北之外的全都是南部. The stereotype of 南部人 is backwarded, less fashionable, less smart. I guess this is inevitable everywhere. Just like most people from KL may think that they are better than people in Kedah or Sabah, while people from Beijing and Shanghai see themsevles as 文明人. Even in Singapore, those living in Bukit Timah and Orchard Road give people a 高人一等 feeling.
